The world is facing unprecedented challenges in dealing with critical issues related to sustainability. Multiple stakeholders with various interests and agendas further challenge the ability to effect change at a substantial scale.
Enderun Extension together with AGREA, an agri-social enterprise in the island of Marinduque, has organized Sustainability Summit 2017 which will be held on September 20, 2017 at SMX Convention Center, SM Aura, Taguig.
The goal of Sustainability Summit 2017 is to be able to view sustainability issues from different sectors as part of a system, understand how they interrelate and affect each other over time, and identify solutions and opportunities that can be implemented collaboratively. “Sustainability efforts are often pursued in isolation and not tackled on the basis of systems thinking,” says AGREA Founding Farmer and President, Ms. Cherrie D. Atilano.
The Sustainability Summit 2017 will highlight the importance of synergistic efforts in creating sustainable solutions and will tackle key Sustainability issues in Production and Consumption in Food Systems, Business Opportunities in Sustainable Design, Technology and Innovations, Hospitality and Tourism, Infrastructure and Design, and Funding Opportunities for Sustainable Enterprises. The Summit will tackle business opportunities through sustainable design, tapping into the country’s booming design industry as well as identify funding opportunities for sustainable enterprises to encourage aspiring social entrepreneurs.
The summit will be an open discussion between representatives from the government, top business players and notable social entrepreneurs on how they identify issues and create solutions that can be implemented collaboratively.
Sustainability Summit 2017 will provide attendees the perfect opportunity to participate in the discussions that will be defining problems, identifying solutions and committing to action steps with like minded individuals. It will also provide them the space to network and create meaningful collaborations that will help them kick start or improve their initiatives in their respective industries.
